Media - How do I import images, audio files and videos in Teach and Create?

VizZle allows you to easily incorporate imported photos, videos and audio clips into your lessons. VizZle supports a wide range of media file formats, plus you can upload multiple files at the same time. There are several ways you can import media into VizZle:

  • In Teach
    • Import Media button (for all media files)
  • In Create (Legacy Lesson)
    • Upload Image button
    • Add Sound button
    • Add Video button
  • In Create (Integrated Lesson)
    • Add Image Area button
    • Add Sound button
    • Add Video button

 

How to use the Import Media button in Teach
The Import Media button allows you to import multiple media files into a folder. 
  • Click Teach.
  • Click My Media, or the appropriate folder you want to import media into.
  • Click the New button near the top navigation bar, then select Import Media.
  • Your operating system's file browser will open. Locate and click the file you want to upload, or to upload multiple files hold down the Control button on your keyboard (or the Command button if you are using a Mac) and click several files. Once you've selected the file(s) you wish to import, click Open
    • Please note: Some file types are not supported by VizZle. Click here for a list of supported file formats.
  • In the Import Media popup you will see a list of all the files you've selected. Here you can edit the file's name, keywords and description. Click OK when you're ready to start the import process.

  • The Import Media popup will change to show the upload progress for each file. 
    • Please note: The time it takes to upload a file depends on your Internet connection. Connections with slower upload speeds may take several minutes to upload a large file.

  • Once your files have uploaded, they will appear in the destination folder you had selected.

How to use the Upload Image button in Create (Legacy Lessons only)
This feature allows you to import a single image file directly onto a page or tile.
  • Click Create and select one of the activity types. (Please note: the Upload Image feature is not available for Timer, Token Board and Scheduler.)
  • In this tutorial, we'll work with a Build-a-Book lesson. Click on the blank page to pull up the Upload Image button.

  • Click Upload Image. This opens the Import Media window.
  • Your operating system's file browser will open. Locate and click the image file you want to add to the page, then click Open.
  • In the Import Media popup you will see the video file you've selected. Here you can edit the file's name, keywords and description. Click OK when you're ready to start the import process.
  • VizZle will place the image onto your page, and save the file to your My Media folder.
 
How to use the Add Sound button in Create
This feature allows you to import a single audio file directly onto a page or tile.
  • Click Create and select one of the activity types. In this tutorial, we'll continue to work with the Build-a-Book lesson we created.
  • On the bottom left corner of the page, click Add Sound to open the sound menu options, then click Import.

  • Your operating system's file browser will open. Locate and click the audio file you want to add to the page, then click Open
  • In the Import Media popup you will see the audio file you've selected. Here you can edit the file's name, keywords and description. Click OK when you're ready to start the import process.
  • Once your audio file has uploaded, the Add Sound button will change to an audio icon. Click the audio icon to play the video. Additionally, the video file will be saved in your My Media folder for future use.
 
How to use the Add Video button in Create
This feature allows you to import a single video directly onto a page or tile.
  • Click Create and select one of the activity types. In this tutorial, we'll continue to work with the Build-a-Book lesson we created.
  • On the bottom right corner of the page, click Add Video to open the video menu options, then click Import.

  • Your operating system's file browser will open. Locate and click the video file you want to add to the page, then click Open
  • In the Import Media popup you will see the video file you've selected. Here you can edit the file's name, keywords and description. Click OK when you're ready to start the import process.
  • Once your video has uploaded, the Add Video button will change to a video icon. Click the video icon to play the video. Additionally, the video file will be saved in your My Media folder for future use.

How to import media in Create (Integrated Lesson) 
You can easily import an image, audio, or video file into an Integrated Lesson using the media buttons in the toolbar.
 
  • To import an image into a card, first select the card, then click Add Image Area (labelled 1 in the diagram).
  • To import an audio file into a card, first select the card, click Add Audio (labelled 2 in the diagram), then click Import in the popup menu.
  • To import a video file into a card, first select the card, click Add Video (labelled 3 in the diagram), then click Import in the popup menu.
